Which is 2021's best ipad?
It all depends on what you are going to use the iPad for. For basic tasks like watching videos, blogging, surfing the internet & social media any iPad is good. It will have sufficient speed to do all that.
iPad which costs only A$499 has been upgrade with A12 bionic chip has got heaps of features and is perfect for everyday use. But it might be lacking if you are going to do high resolution video editing and other content creation, you don’t want to regret later on buying a cheaper option that doesn’t perform according to your requirements. Another thing it lacks is the camera, front camera is only 1.2 megapixels which isn’t great for video calls. Normal camera is 8 megapixels which is not too bad,but it films maximum at 1080p where as iPad air takes 4k videos.
iPad Air is the middle range between standard iPad and iPad Pro. It ticks a lot of boxes for me and many other people who are going to use ipad for editing content like HD videos. iPad Air has got massive potential to perform as it’s got A14 bionic chip but it doesn’t make a big hole in your pocket like the Pro does.
8th generation iPad doesn’t work as the latest iPads do. It can get you through but if you want to do a bit more than just the basic stuff and you can afford to put a little bit extra money on the iPad, it’s going to be worth it for these reasons:
Bigger/better screen.
Liquid Retina screen. When you put these two iPads side by side, you do notice a massive difference. The quality on ipad air is crisp, super clear.
Camera.
The camera on iPad Air is so good, you can capture HD 4K videos with 12 megapixel camera. And the front camera is 7 megapixel, which is pretty good too for video calling.
Magic pencil and magic keyboard support.
It is capable of attaching both magic keypad and magic pencil to it. So if you are planning to turn your ipad into a mini laptop with the keyboard or you are planning on using magic pencil to draw later on you should consider it as it supports both these accessories.
The design.
I know for some people design might not be an issue, but I am not a big fan of the generic iPad design which has been the same since iPad was launched 10 years ago.
The new design is so fresh. It is sleek and the screen is cool with a new design. So the fingerprint has moved from the middle button to the lock button, as the middle button is eliminated.
It is launched in 5 colours, 3 previous colours space grey, silver and rose gold and two new colours green and blue. I love both blue and green, I bought the blue. It wanted something new.
Price Attack.
What happens with apple is when they price their largest size products, they put a ridiculous price on it making it unaffordable for most people. That’s what they did when they brought out the new MacBooks. My friend just got a 16 inch Macbook Pro with i9 processor that cost him $4500. The larger size which was only few inches bigger was double the price, it’s the same case with iPad Pro 12.9 inch, it costs nearly $2000 or more depending on what storage you get and the magic keyboard and magic pencil.
When you are looking at an iPad that is going to cost you 2 grand, you will start looking at MacBooks or iMacs in the similar price range. It doesn’t seem right to pay that amount just for 2 more inches bigger iPad. And as I was trying the 12.9 inch it feels too big. I cannot use it on its own as it’s massive and it makes it harder to take it with you, I will need a proper case to use it as a computer.
I guess it would be good if someone is willing to set up a computer at home and still wants the feature of touch, especially for people who draw for hobby or profession. It’s a great device for that. That’s the thing with different sizes and the usage it is for, it caters different people.
Why i prefer ipads over other tables?
iPads are super fast and secure at the same time. if you are an apple user and have got other apple devices, you are like many other people out there. all your apple devices sync together. I have got apple watch, iphone, iPad and macbook all synced together, they work like magic.
I have heard from other people how their surface is super slow and kept shutting down, same with Samsung tablets slowing down. I know this as I was a service technician for Dell and Lenovo and I heard it from many people even after spending li,e $2000 on a Lenovo tablet/computer same problem. so i would never bother following that path.
Bonus- Why are pushy tech sales guys hilarious
So when i was looking to buy the iPad, i was looking at ipad $499 and ipad air $899. At that stage i eliminated ipad Pro as it is too big for me and also it very expensive.
So when you are looking at ipads that’s going to cost you $499 or $899, why would you consider buying a keyboard that costs same price of the iPad. We all know that apple makes money on their accessories but $499 for a keyboard, it makes me laugh.
At the same time the pushy sales guy is trying to add the $499 magic keyboard and $250 magic pencil to the iPad $899 as a great cheap option for start up without giving me any deal or a discount. It is hilarious. Just to get their commission they will say anything to make that sale happen.
If you look on the internet you can find heaps of great keyboards that are affordable and are as good.
