How to eliminate bad habits that we subconsciously develop
It’s important to be aware of what we are doing. You can fool everyone but you can not fool yourself and that’s what is most important. People keep ignoring and then it becomes a big burden too hard to deal with.
You need to act now. Do something about the situation, only you can and no one else can do that for you. Most of the times it’s work situation that is toxic or may be at home or a friend that is close to you but it’s affecting your health. You are trying for both ends to meet and there is not much you can do.
With jobs its not easy either, as you have bills to pay and you can not get another job as you don’t have enough time to look elsewhere. If you are willing to start up your business, you still need some savings to take that chance. It’s not good to hang around with toxic people, stay away as much as you can.
Now you realise that change is required. It is time to eliminate the problem or problems around you. It is time to bend the rules to make your life better. First step to eliminate the problem is to find the problem. If i look at my old routine or some people around me, i can clearly detect the problem.
I used to get up and use the phone for some time to check the notifications, emails, messages and all that stuff used to take up the best time of my day. So now I do not care about notifications, my phone stays in do not disturb mode in those morning hours. Use that time to do productive things, mind is very active and surrounding are very calm. It is good time to focus. You can plan your day better if you make the habit of waking up early. You are one step ahead of your daily routine. It is no good when you wake up late and you do not have enough time, so you end up missing your breakfast.
I noticed my friend used to be on his phone up all night and complaining not being able to get up early for morning walks. For getting up early you need to sleep early. Morning time is great for exercise. if you finish work late, reach home tired and want to relax. So what you can do is get up little bit earlier and use that time to do what you love.
I see a lot of people using their phones while driving. It’s super dangerous. You need to concentrate when you drive and if you are busy on your phone you can’t be attentive on the road which is not good, you are putting many other lives in danger.
If you need to contact someone or you are looking for directions, pull up on the side where it is safe and do what you have toand then drive. It’s ur responsibility to be safe and make sure everyone else is.
Technology
Technology is part of our life now. It’s purpose was to make our life easy but instead it complicated our life. Technology does not give us break anymore as it stays in our pocket all the time. What we need to remember is, we are in control. Switch that phone off and say hello to life. Nothing is as important as your health. So take a break, put the phone away or turn it phone off and go for a walk.
Whenever i go for a long beach walk, i do not want someone interrupting my routine. So i turn the phone off or put it on silent and leave it in the car. If someone needs to me, they can wait. People can leave a message and i can get back to them whenever i can. I remember when i was working as a technician and i know many people who work in big companies, they give you a company phone and they expect you to answer the phone even after work. It’s like they have trapped your life through that phone.
When i look at my life and people around me, mobile phone is the root of the problem in many ways. Social media and shopping are on top of the list for wasting people’s time. If you are in the same boat, you need to make the switch. Ditch the phone and find an alternative for your free times. Reading a book instead of scrolling through someone’s wall or scrolling through endless list of clothes is so much better. If you read a motivational book it will pump you up to get things done, we all need that initial push sometimes. There are many good books for easy reading. Books are good for brain exercising. They enhance our imagination and boosts our sleep.
Procrastination
It is not good to not do what you want to do. And keep thinking about it and it makes you upset. It would be better if you do what you want to do and then your mind is free to think good thoughts. Only you know what you want to do, something that you have been thinking about and never shared with anyone. And there is only one person stopping you from doing what you want to do, that is you.
Do not stop just because you think people might not like it, but what about what you like? It is easier than it sounds, just start on it now. What the problem here is, you have been procrastinating for long and now it becomes harder as you have not done it in the past and you can not do it now thinking about the past. Do not think about what happened before, because you can not change what happened before but you can change everything by doing something now. Life is too short to not do what you love.
Negative People
If you hang around with negative people, they will always stop you from doing something productive. Negative people always think about the worst and are scared of taking chances. And if you want to get things done and you are around such people they will always destroy your positive energy and you will end up not doing what you love. The impact of negative people is strong on you. Make sure you surround yourself with optimistic people.
I have heard from some people that bad things are happening around us. If we think about bad things we attract bad energy. If you cannot do anything about it, do not talk about it. If you want to help the situation do something about it.
It is like looking at a homeless person and feeling sorry for him, this is not going to help him. If you want to help him, give him some food, hot drink. Take actions. Just feeling sorry for someone is not enough. We all have the tendency to help others, try to find a way to help others.
Fear
One thing that is holding everyone back is the fear, it can be fear of society,friends,family etc. This fear is not going to allow you to take any steps to get ahead in life. This fear will not let you takes risks in life and this way nothing is going to change.
You need to let this fear go and start taking some actions. For once do what makes you happy. We are here not fora long time but for a good time. What others will say doesn’t matter. First they doubt you, then talk about you and when you succeed they tell everyone.
Your next step
Sit down and write down your goals. Make a plan of what you want to do and set the time table consider for an year. And set monthly goals and achieve them.
Remember slow progress is better than no progress. It’s all about moving forward. A little we do everyday counts, so put efforts in daily and you will see results.
Write down all the negative things that are affecting you and not letting you grow. Eliminate them after identifying them.
Help others, do not expect anything in return. Start doing good and good will happen automatically. This is how the universe works.
